I’m a big fan of curves. I love the smooth, undulating lines of a meandering river, the spirals of a ringlet, the curl of a dozing cat.
And as geometric shapes go, a simple circle can often be the most striking, synonymous with completion, ending and beginnings, with life.
So, in response to the Daily Post’s photo challenge, here are a few images from my collection of circles and curves, snapped as I’ve been out and about and getting ‘a round’!
Yes, I know that they’re not all true circles but hey-ho… That Elton John song and all that. Or should it be the Beach Boys…? 😉
I hope you enjoy the Wednesday Lensday selection!

Did you know you can follow the Bobbins on Twitter and Facebook? Come and say hi!
Love the one where you see a sailboat through what looks like. Stone opening! I would definitely hang one of those on one of my walls! Beautiful!

Really? Thank you! It was taken in Cornwall. I was being nosey, looking through and it was just luck that a sailing school were just beginning their practices. 🙂

But do you have to type your replies on that tiny screen or do you have voice recognition?

I type them but on my phone it’s not too small… Same as texting really which I don’t mind.

Circles and curves are always more appealing than straight lines. A great collection. 🙂 I particularly like the top image.

Thank you 🙂 If you mean the image alone (not in the gallery) it’s the marker on the very summit of Mount Snowdon – super chilly, but great place!

I did. 🙂 I’ve never been to Snowdonia – its yet another place on my list of places I’d love to visit! Its a very long list. 😀

Thank you! It’s one of my favourite buildings – the oculus in the dome of the Pantheon in Rome 🙂

Oooh please do then bring it round to my house please. I’ll make room in the garden. I’ll warn you it’s heavy – totally made of concrete, no joins or something. Quite a feat in those days.

Well, I’ll grab it like Gru grabbed the moon. I’ll shrink it first. sit it on my desk.

Everything is better in miniature! You can post it to me in that case – 6 months on each desk sounds a fair deal 🙂

Curves and circles are my favorite shapes too. Your photos capture the idea of the circle. But, I especially like the words you used to describe circles, “the curl of a dozing cat” is wonderful!

Thank you, I did think of your snails spirals when I did the post!

Aww thanks Carol! I do have the app for WordPress on my phone which makes responding a little easier (don’t have to wait to boot up my laptop!) but even then, I’m nowhere near as active or good at ‘networking’ as some bloggers. Still, I love to receive comments – I’d much rather engage in conversation with fellow bloggers than just have people follow for following’s sake 🙂
