“Nobody loves me, everybody hates me. I think I’m gonna eat worms…“
Lyrics from a song I enjoyed singing as a child, especially the part when you make the slurping noise and suck their juices out!
Of course, I wouldn’t really want to eat worms but you’d be forgiven for thinking the opposite if you were to look in my fridge. You see, for those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram, this is my reality now: housing worms next to the mayonnaise, chasing locusts and telling people that cockroaches aren’t really that bad.
Why? Because I am now the Mother of Dragon. A bearded one!
I do love Facebook for reminding me of things I’ve done and apparently, this time last year, I was hunting crows! So, reminisce with me now as we venture for a second time around Northern Westeros. 🙂
By now, you all must have a fair idea of how much I LOVE Game of Thrones! This is more than a fad, this is borderline obsessive. But until I enter into the fandom realms of changing my surname to Stormborn, tattooing the sigils of each house on my inner thigh and sleeping next to a vial of Kit Harington’s sweat (that I paid an extortionate amount for on eBay), I think I’m safe from intervention!
I did, however, request that we tour around Northern Ireland this summer, in an attempt to
stalk some cast members visit filming locations for the show! Therefore, today’s photographic post is a small collection of a few castles and landscapes featured in the HBO series. The title? Well, apparently this hashtag is totally ‘a thing’ if you’re a tweeter, something I only discovered recently, jumped on and then created my own (#TargaryenTuesdays) – I’m taking compete credit for this because surely no other fan in the world could have thought of this alliterative link… 😉
Typical northerners, always banging on about the weather. Five and half seasons we’ve listened to the members of House Stark utter their family motto, ‘Winter is Coming’ with more than a hint of urgency that we best all be prepared for an extended cold snap.
SPOILERS ARE COMING…
50% of that image is true… you decide whether to read on!
No, I’ve not turned my hand to weather forecasting – although based on recent weeks, the white stuff IS a possibility!
I am of course talking about this chap…
After many months of soul searching, deliberating, hair-watching and lie detecting, he’s about to be back on our screens as Season 6 of the GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH premieres! (Slight, ‘can’t believe you’ve not heard this plot point’, S5 spoiler ahead!) Read more
Happy Easter Monday Munchies everyone!
I realise I’ve not been doing much baking of late – in fact I’ve done very little since Christmas. We STILL have a small amount of Yuletide treats knocking about the place and what with my birthday last week and Easter dropping off an obligatory delivery of sweet things, I’ve not had a need to add to the stockpile!
So this week, I’d thought I’d do a mini-book review. Fear not, it is most definitely foodie related and caters to both my sweet tooth and my love of a certain TV / book series…
The lovely ladies I work(ed) with know my love of Westeros and along with a garden gnome (sat on the Iron Throne!) and a house sigil bookmark, another of my leaving / birthday gifts was the brilliantly titled Game of Scones: All Men Must Dine!
Packed full of treats and desserts, each recipe is a parody of Game of Thrones in some way: I was over the moon (and my stars…)!
The following are some examples of my favourites, but I’ve purposely not included the actual recipes, for copyright reasons. Also, be warned, there may be some spoilers if you’re not up to date as far as Season 4.
So without further ado, here are my thoughts on the book because Valar Baekaaris! (All Men Must BAKE!) 😉
