It’s time to show off the artistic talents in this week’s edition of the Moodle Army! Unfortunately, the ‘centre of the universe‘ theme seems to have flummoxed a few and submissions have dwindled. 😦 So a huge thanks to those who have contributed – I’ll take note of your comments about it being a tricky subject!
I have to admit that I was a little unsure what to Moodle myself this week. I could have sat in an orbit of cupcake planets and teapot asteroids but then I remembered a book I read a few years ago.
British author, DJ, comedian and cult leader (it’s a kindness cult, so its ok!), Danny Wallace wrote a hilarious book about his quest to find the centre of the universe. Which apparently is under a manhole cover, in a town conveniently named Wallace, in Idaho, America.
The mayor of the town declared it the centre of the known universe in 2004, because he could, and Danny went on a trip to check it out (it’s also where Dante’s Peak was filmed).
So my Moodle is a touristy adventure to snap a selfie with a circular piece of metal! We’ll ignore the fact my map of the US looks like a fish…I at least tried to make up for it with the American spelling of ‘center’.
And if you’ve never read his books before, I recommend them to make you chuckle – especially Join Me and Yes Man (which is much better than the film of the same name they made from it).
Anyway, on with this week’s entries – Don’t forget, there will be a new challenge tomorrow at 9am. Fingers crossed I’ll see more of you next week. 🙂
Thanks all, enjoy!

I love that you spelled “center” the way we do! I haven’t heard of those stories before, but I’ll look for them — thanks for the recommendation.
It’s always fun to see the different interpretations everyone comes up with. Maybe Moodling is the solution to the world’s problems; they’re a friendly way to understand that we don’t necessarily see the same things the same way, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Exactly! I’m actually going to use that notion this week with the children to illustrate (literally) that differences of opinion are okay.
And you’re welcome for the spelling – it’s the least I could do for turning your country into a fish!

I don’t look like that in real life, honest!! Still fun to do though. Thanks.

Haha, I think you may get a few strange looks if you actually had planets spinning around your head 😉 Glad you enjoyed the challenge!

I feel, in many ways, that I entirely missed the point, but I think that that, in some ways, is exactly the point of moodling…
Enjoyable as always – bring on next week’s moodle!

Not at all, I love how varied people’s interpretations are – makes it more fun than seeing every entry the same. Like you said, that’s kind of the point 🙂

Aww, what a lovely collection of universes! And, again, all so different. I love them all! ❤

They’re great aren’t they?! Still love wondering how people will interpret them 🙂

I never did think of anything to draw. I have a very hard time putting myself at the center… It’s more like me running in circles around other people (some who think the world revolves around them…)!

Ah, no worries – like I said, a few people thought it was more of a tricky subject this week. Hope you’ll take part in the next one though – and make some time for yourself!!

Of course after I posted that last comment, I thought of something that might be good. Haha! Maybe I’ll post it anyway… of course, I haven’t actually drawn it yet…

😀 You can always link back and still be part of this week’s challenge when you do draw it!
