Tiny Tales Assembled: I’m on Amazon!

Tiny Tales Assembled: I’m on Amazon!

Six words of shameless self-promotion to indicate that my six-word stories are now available to buy. You know, if you like reading them and are feeling nice…

Yes, after stating on my bucket list that I’d like to have a book published, I can officially say that I have achieved this goal!

Okay, so yes I did it myself. I’ll still hold on to the notion that one day a traditional publishing house will snap up my words and I’ll be subjected to a whirlwind of signings and film offers and be asked to cut the ribbon at the opening of my theme park.

Until then, I have taken the plunge to collate all my Tiny Tales written so far, working over the last few weeks to pop them on Amazon. Some have appeared within blog posts, several have been entries to the weekly challenge hosted by Nicola Auckland, but there are plenty of new ones too. Oh, and I tried to entertain you with some added illustrations …but full disclosure, I’m no Van Gogh!

KINDLE COVER (401x640)

I’m working on offering a print version but for now it is available to download on Kindle. This is all very new to me, I’m bound to have done something wrong or shouldn’t have listened to the Amazon advice on pricing, or whatever.

However, even if you’re not interested in funding my trip to Iceland, I’d be beyond grateful if you shared its existence. It may appeal to other authors or educators as starting points for creative writing – I have to be confident that someone will want a copy.

Mum, I hope you are you reading this…

So, hmmm, yeah… that makes me feel a bit awkward if I’m honest. I’m not too good at the selling yourself role. Any feedback appreciated – I’ll definitely respond once I’ve stopped squirming in the corner.

In the meantime, you can find the details here and look inside to laugh at my attempts at art… https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01J42MHK0

Thanks muchly,

Haylee x

  1. Huge congratulations. Many talk about it, but few do it. Well, you did.
Also, the pic brought back memories as it is a German type keyboard with QWERTZUIOP. My old portable typewriter was such a beast!

    1. Thank you so much! It may only be a teeny collection but it’s still a mini-achievement for me. I love old typewriters. If I had the space and money, I’d be a collector like Tom Hanks!

      1. Well, that’s the thing. It’s not technically really. It’s more conversational. Not quite like my blog but that kind of writing style. Does that make sense?

      2. Oh, it’s generally locked down via some intranet bobbins learning platform. The last one we had was itslearning and it was all integrated. Think it’s based on hotmail. I hated it.

  2. I’ve bookmarked this! I need to talk to you when I get a chance about the whole process, I’ve been thinking about putting out my science fiction and fantasy microstories. I’m so proud of you, this is really great. You always are doing the coolest things!

    1. Aww, thanks you! And absolutely, 100% do it! Your microstories are awesome 😀 I’d be first in an undoubtedly long queue to buy it! Give me a shout when you have more time, but it was fairly straightforward and even simpler if not including images.

  3. Well done! Always remember that so few actually get to this stage, so this is a fantastic achievement! Will take a look at the book when I’m home, I would love some tiny stories to keep me company when I have those precious few minutes spare. Honestly you should be thrilled 🙂

    1. You should! Although I found the formatting on Kindle Direct a little annoying, it’s a very straightforward process overall. Good luck for if you decide to go ahead. 😊

  4. CONGRATULATIONS! Many people do not appreciate what an epic achievement this is. You have every right to be as proud as punch and I am delighted for you. The whole self-promotion thing is excruciating if that isn’t your sort of thing, but the more you do, the easier it gets (sort of). I don’t own a Kindle or anything like that, but if you manage to get hard copies available I shall be first in the queue. Well done, lady, you rock! 😀

    1. Aww thanks lovely! There’s part of me that feels a bit of a fraud as it’s not, you know, an entire lengthy tale like many have available. But I’m still quite fussy with it all – especially as the whole formatting was a ‘mare. Obviously, I may end up like that old advert featuring J.R Hartley! 😉

      1. Every writer feels like a fraud, whatever genre or style they publish – whether they be self-published or via the traditional route. It’s part of the job, or so they keep telling me 😉 You and I can do the J. R Hartley thing together when we are super old 😉
