Inspired by photos seen on Facebook, this week’s Wednesday Lensday is a tale of unconventional love between Dallas and Daphne, two dinky little dinosaurs.
After stalking Daphne’s herd for quite some time (he was a carnivore after all), Dallas found he’d fallen in love with this beautiful creature who had a child-like spirit and a kindness for all living things. So one night he approached her, she clobbered him with her tail, he assured her he could never eat such an angelic being and they’ve been together ever since.
Nobody thought it would last, especially as Dallas converted to munching marigolds and palm leaves, but Daphne supports him with his MEA meetings (Meat Eaters Anonymous) and she’d be the first to tell you that she’s incredibly attracted to his wild side, providing he keeps it in check. Besides, she knows she can take him in a fight – that tail is formidable!
Join them as they go for a date in the sunshine!
Heading out for a run up to the old mill, Daphne takes a tumble. But the ever gallant Dallas offers to carry her the rest of the way.
On safari with the local wildlife – always a test of willpower for a former meat addict!
Selfies with the sights – it’s hard when your arms are so short! Selfie stick anyone?
Daphne is getting peckish so it’s back into town for a late lunch – but not before Dallas has picked her up a snack. A flower for m’lady?
At the Botanical Beast: a hip, outdoor, vegetarian eatery. Plus, an obligatory photo of their food for Instagram, obvs!
Walking off their salads, the dino-couple pass by the ancient Minster. Dallas has high hopes that one day he’ll convince Daphne to walk down the aisle here…
As the light fades, it’s time to head home with a stroll past the bandstand and down by the riverbank. Two little dinosaurs, very much in love.
Okay, so I’ve been decidedly absent in both posting and reading on the blog -sorry! Lots of things going on in the real world have kept me busy, plus I’ve fallen into the Instagram rabbit hole (come follow!!). So I’m doing a lot of snapping, not much writing but I’m sure that will change soon enough – I really should think about a recipe post
Anyway, if you have ideas of other situations you’d like to see Dallas and Daphne in, drop me a line – I might make it into a series. Hope you enjoyed, thanks for stopping by!

Yes – could be a bit of a trigger for Dallas though… Actually, that has given me an idea, thanks! 🙂

Haha, awesome! Is he a fan of romance tales? I hope he’s not jealous – Daphne is quite a catch 😉 (Ooh, it’s odd seeing my blog on someone else’s screen though!)

He says he can’t wait to see more of their adventures. I think he’s a little bit jealous too, ‘cos all he has for company is a penguin and a pink elephant (I kid you not)

He must go on his own adventures – never has there sounded such a fabulous bunch of travelling companions!

He has already been on one or two strange adventures, as this pic from last year shows… https://www.dropbox.com/s/raqsy0yj6z5tdwn/dino%20people3.jpg?dl=0

This is truly the most beautiful love story of all time – Dallas and Daphne make Romeo and Juliette look like something off of Hollyoaks. I hope to see them frolicking in further wonderful locations! 😀

Haha, thank you! I shall tell them that their love is inspiring. 🙂
And I’m sure they’ll get an outing again very soon (I had far more fun with it than I should have, if I’m honest!)

Please do pass that on! It makes me want to find a short-armed monster of my very own…
I bet it was brilliant fun 🙂 I just love this sort of thing.

I did get a few funny looks from people – mainly groups congregating to capture virtual monsters, so I wasn’t alone in being weird. 😉

At least yours are real! This whole Pokemon thing is really surreal. I sort of want to join in but I am sure I have better things to do with my time…

I have succumbed to the hype – I’m not as invested as some (my other half!) but it is fun to play if you’re waiting around for a train or something 🙂
