Hey everyone. π
So, this should have gone out yesterday but we had a bit of a family emergency when my G-Pa (i.e. grand daddy Bobbins) was taken into hospital suddenly. He’s okay (ish) but we’ve had a bit of a battle on with the NHS and whilst they are fabulous on the one hand, at the moment they clearly couldn’t organise a viral outbreak in a petri dish. But hey-ho.
Anywho, the reason for this ‘save the date’ type announcement is, well, would you believe it…Aloada Bobbins turns ONE YEAR OLD next month!! How on earth did I manage it?! π
Naturally, I want to celebrate this minor achievement (which for my infinitely faddy tendencies is a major accomplishment!) but I was wondering what to do.
So here’s the thing…I was thinking it might be nice to have a bit of a Q&A session – you know, because you’re all dying to know what I eat for breakfast or what toothpaste I can recommend, aren’t you? Of course you are…
However, I thought I may take it a step further and DO IT AS A VLOG!! That is, if you haven’t already been put off by my attempts on screen if you watched my ‘music video’. I promise I won’t bring my cello. π
Full disclosure, I would be totally stealing the idea from Amanda of Inside the Life of Moi who did such a good job of a Q&A Vlog a few months ago – her eyelashes are waaay better than mine though, perhaps this is where I’ll fail!
Recently, I’ve also been nominated for a few ‘awardy’ things, so thought it would be an opportunity to answer some of those questions too. So what do you think? Good / bad idea?
I’m thinking I’d select the best 20 questions I receive (either from leaving a comment or emailing me at aloadabobbins@gmail.com) and then I would feature the blog name / social media links etc on the video and help promote you lot too. Because, let’s face it, without having you fab readers, this blogging malarkey would be a bit pointless I feel (thanks millions!!)
Aloada’s birthday is 6th June, so any questions (and I mean ANY… within reason. Nothing too risquΓ© mind you, I don’t want to be blushing on screen – Family audience after all!) I’d need before then please.
I’m looking forward to finding out what you’d like to know and who can come up with the most random question. I reckon I’d know which of my readers to put money on! π
Side note: I start my new job tomorrow so with the hospital situation and that, I may not get chance to read blogs / respond as quick as normal. But I’ll be back as soon as I can. π

I’ll be sure to try and think of a question. Did you see my sexy magazine post?

I didn’t, but I’ve been seriously lacking in reading any blogs recently. Had so much going on π

Couldn’t think of anything better, I blame it on work draining my brain! Hope your new job will be fun! What kind of job is it – you used to work as a teacher, right?

Yes – it’s working with visually impaired children. All new to me so just learning the ropes, like having to know Braille

Any updates? Grand pa? New job?

G-pa back home and recovering, new job okay so far… Early days so a lot of the boring, red tape things so far. You’ve not missed much, really!

I think this is a great idea and I might do something similar in the future. Maybe you should do a live version like on periscope or something? My first question would be why do you have a photo up there of Hitler in a tutu. My second question would be…how would you spend the day with an alien from another planet if they only had one day on earth with you before reporting back to their leader about whether or not to destroy earth or not based on their time with you?

Ooh-er… I’m not sure I’m ready for live action!!! Good idea though.
Do t you think things could have been a bit nicer back in WW2 if he’d done a few arabesques?!
Seriously though, that’s a very tough question… Mean in fact! π

I’m glad grandad is home already π My question features alliteration , of course! So it’s faves, fails and fantasies. Since you’ve blogged brilliantly about both, the subject can be baking or travel. You choose should you accept the challenge!

Thank you! Yeah, been a rough few days but hopefully getting sorted now.
Interesting…do I have to answer with alliteration too?! π

Greatly amazing idea!!! I’d love it. And you must have your cello in the background–just for kicks and giggles and some other things. Now…my question…have you ever eaten black pudding? *dies and gags at the same time*
Hope Grand daddy Bobbins gets better soon–which I know he shall.

Hoping he’s home later today, so thanks for the get well wishes!
I take it you don’t like black pudding then?! Now I like cake so… Hmmm…

*sends many more* Well…I’ve never had it. I’ve just heard scary rumors about it, see. Cake has to be different than black pudding!

Congratulations on your blogiversary! If that’s not a word I may have just created one and I’m not ashamed about it at all.
My question would be; if you could share a pack of bourbon biscuits and a cup of tea with any famous literary figure past or present who would it be and would you casually name drop your blog at some point to them? Bonus points if blogs didn’t exist when this literary figure was alive and it would probably bewilder them.

Thank you – hoping he’s home today π And it’s definitely a word, whether or not it’s in the dictionary is irrelevant!
Now that’s a tough one (and good one!) – I will ponder. Can I swap the bourbons for custard creams though please? Or maybe some garibaldi?

Oh, I’m hoping your grandfather fully recovers, and that your new job is just the best. Congratulations on the upcoming Aloadabirthday!
I would love to see your vlog where you answer questions, but I’m the worst interviewer, so I don’t know what I’d ask. I’ll see what I can come up with.

Thank you, I’m sure he will be… slightly worried about job. Not sure anyone knows I’m arriving tomorrow!
But yes, please do… you could quiz me and watch me fail miserably with GoT knowledge!

I’d probably just ask you to pronounce a bunch of words that I know we Americans pronounce wrong.

I like this idea… But you know I’ll get your surname wrong, so we’d be even!

There’s no wrong way to pronounce my last name. My dad, my grandmother, and I all pronounced it differently. We never noticed. My wife did.
