For the last few days, iCloud has been very annoying: whinging to me every hour or so about the fact that I’ve run out of storage. So I thought it was time for a little Spring cleaning and a general photo clearout.
I’ve said before how much using an iPhone for photography suits my lazy habits – like most of mankind these days it’s rarely further than a couple of feet away from my hand, which is brilliant for capturing those impromptu days out or snapping random things of interest.
And in general, I’m very happy with the results: granted, you can’t manipulate them as well as RAW images but with all the apps available these days you can still create interesting photography. For these, I’ve only used the basic iOS photo editing functions (I’m too lazy to even bother with an app!) and I do like the ‘noir’ setting quite a lot. 🙂
I hope you enjoy my ‘clearout’, let me know your thoughts in the comments and thanks for reading / looking!

Did you know you can follow the Bobbins on Twitter and Facebook? Come and say hi!
Woaaah!! Loved your pics ❤ ❤ You are an awesome photographer Haylee ! I have an iphone too and I have not taken pics which comes anywhere closer to the beauty of yours, thanks to my photography-retardedness! 😛 May I ask where was the first photo and the photo after the field of yellow flowers taken ? 🙂

I love your clear out! Good to see I’m not alone with my addiction to using my iPhone for photos out not pure laziness!!!! 🙂 The photos are amazing! I too am a BIG fan of black and white!!!! 🙂

Thank you! Let’s rename ourselves ‘practical’ instead of ‘lazy’! 😉

Thank you! I just wish I could say it without sounding ridiculous – always comes out as ‘nuwahr’ with my accent. You wouldn’t think I studied French for 12 years!

Thank you… But I hope you’re not going to start spitting at people! 😉
Hey, did you see my tragic cello playing? It’s quite awful… You’ll wonder why there’s any point encouraging me!

Spitting would be quite the defense! No, I didn’t! Let me go have a search…

That’s not necessarily wise – the spitting or searching… (although there’s someone you should recognise in the post!)

Gorgeous images. 😊 I really should follow your lead and clean out some of my photos but I find it really very tricky to do so.

Thanks Clare! I hate having to sort through them – I’m sure by the time I’ve uploaded, resized, rearranged and watermarked I have several versions in folders causing more things to need sorting, just in a different place!!

You’ve hit the nail on the head there, that’s exactly why mine never gets done and I pay for iCloud storage. Always the easy option I’m ashamed to say.

Oh, the b&w photos are beautiful. But I also LOVE the colorful houses. And I take most pictures with my LG-G3 since it’s always with me. I used to carry the camera everywhere, but my bag was just too heavy!

Hehe, thanks – they’re just adorable aren’t they?! Monochrome will always be my main love though. I know what you mean about ease of access though. Now I have a mini gorilla pod for my phone I often wonder why I need a ‘proper’ camera at all!

Yes… exactly! Oh, and sometimes when the b&w feels a little cold, I’m all about the sepia tone!

Beautiful pics!! I love the black and white images. The great thing about smart phones is that you always have a camera at the ready! Long gone are the days when I would say to myself “If only I had my camera!!” ☺☺☺

Thanks Michelle! Yes, I’d be genuinely lost without my phone, for all manner of reasons. Before I upgraded though, my old phone’s battery was on its way out and you could guarantee just when I wanted to take a photo, it would die on me!

Gorgeous pics, I can’t even pick a favourite as I like them all. I am still amazed when I take a photo on my iPhone and it comes out just as I want it to. I instantly shove it under Mark’s nose and shout: “Just look at that!” Sadly he doesn’t get it and just looks at me like I’ve finally lost it 🙂

Aww, thanks Tara! I get really fussy with them too and I’m sure it winds Sam up. He trained in video editing and studied photography, so I think he’s always a bit miffed if I hold my phone at arm’s length and something decent comes out!

I enjoyed your iPhone photos. The problem is a person just takes too many of them, and then you cannot find the one you want just a few months later. Do you organize your photos as you take them?

Thank you 🙂 No, I’m not organised enough to organise!! When I have periodic clearouts, like this, I generally just use the Windows Photo Gallery – it allows me to view the blocks of photos taken on different dates and upload what I want.

I wish I could lug my camera around with me everywhere I go. But it simply isn’t practical. At least the iPhone gets the job done – and is capable of some damn fine photos from time to time. (I need to learn how to make mine produce better quality.)

I think I like it because I don’t have loads of settings to think about!! 😉

What a lovely collection of pictures. It’s amazing what you find on iCloud.
Those beach huts are soooo pretty!!!

Thank you 🙂 Aren’t the huts cute?! I weirdly have a thing for a good ‘shed’! It’s a good job the photos get geotagged, there were loads I found that I wouldn’t have had a clue where they were taken otherwise!

Oh, these are beautiful – taken just with a phone, you say?! The chap asleep on the bench is a very powerful image. And I really like the cheery beach huts in the first one! Thanks for sharing, these are just great 😀

Thank you! Yes, just my little iPhone 6. 🙂 The huts are gorgeous – I wanted to live in one! And yes, that sculpture is amazing, I actually thought it was a person when first seen from a distance. Very realistic.

I totally thought that was a real person!! I am rather glad it isn’t. Great work all round, Haylee!
