Hey, hey! Told you I might pop up during my blogging break. 🙂
Just wanted to share this little video that you may have seen bobbing about the internet over the last couple of days.
S drew my attention to it and whilst my first thought was that it was very funny, I suddenly thought, ‘Oh deary, what if he’s having a dig at me?!’
Pfft! He assured me he wasn’t (he better not be, not with his birthday tomorrow!) Besides, as he reminded me, I’m not on Instagram – never seen the appeal if I’m honest.
However, I am completely guilty of standing on chairs to capture images of ‘stuff’ and have stopped food or liquid consumption going ahead, just to be able to get the perfect meal shot! I’m fully aware how tedious this may seem to others waiting!
So in the interests of Christmas and kindness, remember if you have a partner:
Switch off and login in with them for a change! 😉
As an additional, side-note of kindness, Izabolinha from A Turtle Way wrote a lovely post about me yesterday. It made my Friday! So please go and check out her blog and show some return love. She gives out free turtle hugs!

Did you know you can follow the Bobbins on Twitter and Facebook? Come and say hi!
Ha! I love that clip and although I do Instagram, I don’t really post pictures of me of it! I do take lots of pictures though but I don’t get around to posting them. I’m off to show himself the video. Merry Christmas to you and yours xxx

Loads of pictures are ok, as long as no significant others have been disturbed in the process! To you too Lisa, hope you all have a wonderful time 🙂 x

The video is brilliant, isn’t it? So spot on – I just need to remember not to do any of those things now!

The really weird thing is that I have started doing that, and I was not even aware of it being a trend. I was actually feeling concerned that my husband had no interest in taking pictures of me, I would have to tell him, “please take a photo of me in my cute new red vest”. Or, “wait, wait, I have to take a photo of this lovely dinner.” I certainly never did that with a regular camera. Technology changes our behavior and we don’t even realize it. Your post of this video was a consciousness raising experience!! Haylee, you find the best things!!!

Very funny. My wife has to put up with me mentioning her in my blog. She still hasn’t forgiven me for saying she makes our flat look like a cheap whore house during Christmas but then I have to put up with the noise of her sewing machine while writing. Great post.

Haha, I think it’s a marvellous description although if I was on the receiving end, maybe not so much! Glad you enjoyed the post 🙂

I think my husband would seriously hurt me and throw out all forms of electronic gadgetry if I made him do that. I am a serial food photographer but…I can proudly say I haven’t stood on chairs to do it yet…..and…..I did selfies BEFORE they were cool with my old film cameras…back in the high school days. I don’t own a selfie stick, but I would consider it for traveling purposes. I don’t think I’d trust someone to not run off with my phone or camera these days!!!!!!

Haha, every photo I’ve taken today, if I’ve got even a hint of a grumpy face I’ve retorted with ‘Instagram husband! Deal with it!’ He knows I’m not that bad though, I hopes! 🙂

I’m glad I’m not the only one! The video was great, I’m sure there’ll be a Christmas ‘save the husbands’ version next!

Haha! Oh my. I never thought it’d be that bad. 😛 And, you’re right. What’s the use, anyway?

Haha, are you guilty of any of these crimes? I’ve just had a look at some of your photos – if you have a back-up team making them possible then I’d say keep doing it, they’re lovely!

Haha, nooo. 😂 Actually, I had my best friend in mind who was (I hope it stays in the past tense) an Instagram freak. Incidentally, when she came to know that I could produce that (in her words) “blurred effect, where only I am in focus,” I became her “photographer” on a recent trip. 😅
Thanks for the heads up though, in case I find a back up team. 😛

Ha ha! That clip sums up the side of blogging/social media that I really don’t get. I adore Instagram but as with most things in life I’m pleased to say I don’t take it that seriously.

It’s a good outlook to have! I may take pictures of food but at least I can honestly say I’ve never used a selfie stick and I avoided the ‘trout-pout’ period with a passion!

😀 I’m much happier behind the lens – except in selfie mode! Luckily I have children to hide behind 😉
