Hello everyone and welcome to the October edition of Monday Munchie’s Tea Party!
This month, I bring you a selection of both Autumnal, comfort dishes and Halloween-y inspired treats – best of all, most are easy to whip up without knowing too many cooking tricks! 😉
You don’t have to be a foodie blogger to get involved: Like, comment, visit the other bloggers to make new, tasty connections and REBLOG to keep the foodie meet and greet juices flowing! You can share your own fantastic food ideas via a pingback in the comments too, or leave a link to your favourite post / home page.
The next Tea Party will be held on November 29th: I think by then it will be safe to include some ‘C’ word treats without offending people for being too early! So with that in mind, if you have any fabulous recipes you’d like to put out to the world, whether it’s a family favourite or simply something you’ve thrown together, you can email them to me at aloadabobbins@gmail.com and I’ll feature them next time.
So let’s get ready to make some new Munchie friends – On with the menu!
- It’s straight to a quick, simple crock-pot recipe for some yummy looking pumpkin butter spread – it looks like peanut butter, so it gets my vote just for that!
http://therichmondavenue.com/crockpot-pumpkin-butter/ - If you don’t know what poutine is, you should! It’s pure Canadian comfort food. This recipe however, is a sweet twist on it, which looks equally delicious!
https://itsallfrosting.wordpress.com/2015/10/10/lookalike-poutine-with-miso/ - Not so much seasonal flavours as seasonal colours – these crêpe pancake stacks from Ice Cream Magazine look amazing.
http://ice-cream-magazine.com/2014/03/04/a-crepe-suzette-ish-fetish/ - What’s more comforting than crumble? This plum version proves that traditional desserts can still be achieved in a healthy way. A fabulous overall site for clean eating – go give Ted some love!
http://somethingcleansomethinggreen.com/2015/08/16/clean-baked-plum-ginger-lemon-crumble/ - And if you like crumble, why not keep it all to yourself? You can, with these miniature creations.
https://heatherisobelphoto.wordpress.com/2015/10/13/a-spoonful-of-autumn-mini-cinnamon-apple-crumbles/ - Jane always comes up with something tasty: bark is so easy to make yet looks so effective, whether just as a treat or to be wrapped as a gift. This Halloween version is no different!
http://janespatisserie.com/2015/10/14/halloween-bark/comment-page-1/ - Kids are sure to love these cupcakes as they ‘bleed’ their fillings whilst eating. Great for a party!
http://thehouseoflotz.com/2015/10/24/bloody-oozing-cupcakes-halloween-cupcakes/ - Red velvet anything is good for Halloween – all your vampires, young and old, will want a nibble of these!
http://tastyrecipesandotherstuff.com/2015/10/24/red-velvet-crinkles/ - Not so much recipes as super ideas of how to present food for Halloween. A brilliant Facebook page full of all things magical to boot!
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.915551541870786.1073741959.422421304517148&type=3 - And finally, shameless self promotion (!) with these House Elf brownies – I love tenuous links. 😉

A special mention to Leisel, from Skill up Skillet, as she has done an entire collection of ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ recipes for Halloween – she nominated me last month for the Blogger Recognition Award, which I’ve yet to get around to answering (sorry!). But as a thank you to her, please check out her ideas here: http://skillupskillet.com/2015/10/09/nightmare-before-christmas-sugar-cookies/
Remember to comment, like, REBLOG and check out the other bloggers’ sites – but most of all, enjoy the party!
(Did you know you can follow the Bobbins on Twitter and Facebook? Come and say hi!)
The tea party is a great idea, I love it! I don’t really have a food blog. Mine is more about traveling around the world (preferably on boats!), but also whatever else I happen to find interesting. Books, movies, history, politics, drinks, and definitely food too! I wrote this post a while ago about my favorite beef stew. The weathers just about right for another pot now. 🙂

Well my blogs are not about food. They are about nature and mental health so far. I would have left you some fish, but if you check this blog out you will see where the fish went to. http://leoladurant.com/2015/10/21/the-wild-life/

Good morning everyone, I have a travel and photography blog. But, no travel is complete without food! Check out a post I did on Belieze street food and find my recipe for Belize Onion Habanero Sauce. Happy Monday everyone.

G’morning! Thanks for the shout out, I really appreciate it. Don’t worry, I think that’s the one that took ME a month to get around to as well. I think.
I do have a pretty spiffy scone recipe which is, you guessed it, Nightmare Before Christmas themed – Sally’s Blueberry Scones! I think the stitched effect is pretty cool and I kind of hate myself for never eating or making scones before this.

You’re welcome! I can’t believe you’ve never eaten scones, never mind made them – although as a Brit, I guess they’re part of the furniture here 🙂
Yeah, I linked to your cookies, but I’ve enjoyed the whole theme, so I’m hoping others take a closer look at the other posts, once directed to your blog. Thanks for the Twitter mention too, no doubt see you in the Pool later!

Honestly, I’d probably be a better Brit than an American. Oh well.
Speaking of the Pool, I’d probably better get my post drafted now. Bollocks, I’m so behind on everything this morning.

Since it’s a tea party, I can’t resist leaving you a link to a post about an American (that’s me) making tea in Britain. http://notesfromtheuk.com/2015/10/16/making-a-nice-cup-of-tea/
I don’t do reblogs, but I will tweet the link. Hope that’s a fair substitute.

Love your humour and didn’t know so much went into making a cup of tea. I still love my herbal tea though!!

Most of the time, like most other tea drinkers, we do it the easiest possible way–boiling water, teabag—mmmm, caffeine.
